Documents Required for Self-Drive Car Rental in Chandigarh (2026)
Three documents, five minutes, and you're driving. Here's the exact checklist.
Renting a self-drive car in Chandigarh should not feel like applying for a passport. At Urban Tricity Cars, KYC takes around five minutes — but only if you bring the right three things. Here they are.
1. Valid driving licence
An Indian DL is mandatory. Learner's licences don't count. International licences are accepted alongside the holder's passport. The DL must be valid for the entire rental period.
2. One address proof
Any one of: Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID or utility bill from the last 3 months. The address doesn't need to match Chandigarh — outstation visitors are welcome.
3. Refundable security deposit
Deposit varies by car (typically ₹3,000–10,000 for hatchbacks/SUVs, more for luxury). Paid by UPI at handover, refunded the same day the car returns clean and undamaged.
What we do NOT ask for
- PAN card
- Salary slip or employer letter
- Credit card hold (UPI deposit is fine)
- Hard-copy printouts — everything is digital
